Welcome to the Golems Wiki

A user-edited manual for users and developers of Golems.

Welcome to Golems! This is a most unusual game. There are no set objectives, and no way to “win”. Golems is a 3D Physics & Artificial Intelligence Simulator, and you are free to build anything that you would like, and watch it move realistically according to Newton’s laws.

Take a Tour

Check out some user creations on youtube or visit our gallery of screen shots. Golems now has the ability to record machines internally, so you can make your own videos too!

The Golems handbook is an in-depth guide to all of the game's tools and features. If you are new to the game, you may want to visit our tutorial page first. The tutorials will help get you acquainted with the game's interface.

Golems is cross-platform and runs on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. You can download the current version or previous versions. Please refer to the installation guide if you need assistance.

Helping with the Documentation

The Golems documentation is stored and edited using this wiki. Feel free to start editing as soon as you feel you can, but read the Manual of Style first. If you are new to wiki editing, please test your page or page elements in the Sandbox.

Visit the forums to discuss any major changes or additions to the documentation first, or you can start right in on requests posted in the article requests. Also:

  • Some articles need smaller changes to satisfy our needs, and there is a list of these. If you don't feel up to writing full articles then this may be a better place to start.
  • Some articles have links which point to non-existent articles. Visit Special:Wantedpages and help us fill in whats missing.
  • There are also some articles that require more work before they can be called finished, and you can browse them in Expand category.
